Dear Customers, we will be closed November 24–30 for a large event. If you were planning a seasonal ski or snowboard fitting during this time, please contact us and we’ll be happy to find an alternative date for you.

Planning an Ice Hockey Event? Why Renting Hockey Gear Isn’t as Complicated as It Sounds

Ice Hockey Gear Rentals for Events

Planning an ice hockey event may sound complicated and costly, but with an experienced company like North Sport Rentals it is definitely possible. Whether you are hosting a corporate outing, a wedding celebration, or a community fundraiser, we provide complete hockey equipment rentals delivered directly to your venue.

Why Renting Hockey Gear Works for Large Groups

For people who don’t play regularly, hockey equipment can seem complicated with all the pads and protective layers. Our rental packages remove that concern: everything is packed and prepared, and we always include extra items to cover last-minute size swaps.

Perfect for Corporate, Wedding, and Community Events

Hockey rentals are popular for team-building events, charity tournaments, and even weddings where couples want something truly unique for their guests. Even if participants are beginners, having full gear ensures safety and lets everyone feel like real players. For spectators, seeing a rink full of participants in proper hockey gear creates a professional look and makes the event unforgettable.

What We Provide, What We Need, and What We Don’t Do

What we provide:
We supply hockey gear only from trusted brands such as Bauer, CCM, Warrior, and other professional-level manufacturers. All equipment is sorted by size and thoroughly cleaned after every event, so players receive gear that is safe, reliable, and ready to use.

What we need from you:
To make the gear fitting process easier, we ask for each guest’s U.S. shoe size, height, weight, and age. With this information, we can prepare the most accurate sizes in advance and bring the best-fitting equipment. If you cannot provide this information, it is still fine — the event can go ahead, but having it makes things smoother.

What we don’t do:
We do not arrange or book the ice rink for your event. Finding a rink and reserving the ice time will be your responsibility. Jerseys and socks are negotiable. We can provide generic options, or if you prefer custom team or event jerseys, you can order them directly from printing companies. If you don’t have time to handle this, you can send us the graphics and design, and we will order them on your behalf. Please note that custom-printed jerseys with event logos or names are not part of our reusable rental stock. These items are purchased specifically for your event in the same way you would buy them yourself from a store.

Where We Can Deliver

In general, we can deliver hockey gear anywhere in the United States. Please keep in mind, however, that delivery costs are a factor. For long distances — for example, transporting gear from Minnesota to Massachusetts — it can take several days of driving, which makes the rental price increase significantly.

Shipping is also an option, but this requires closer discussion in order to find the best method. Depending on timing, location, and the size of your event, we will work with you to determine the most practical and cost-effective way to get the gear to your venue.

Time, Event Size, and Multi-Day Rentals

We can handle events for 25–30 people, which is a pretty standard size for this type of rental. If you expect more guests, please contact us — everything is possible, we just need enough time to check availability and prepare the gear.

Ice hockey events are often split into two and sometimes even three days. The first day is usually used for fitting and practice, while the second day is for the main game. If a third day is added, it can be used for extra games or extended activities. Please note that the price for the second or third day in these situations is much lower than the cost of the first day. However, we have had experiences where the second day took place at a different ice rink. In that case, we can either arrange to pick up the gear from the first location or you can handle transporting it yourself.

We always suggest contacting us at least 2–3 months before a large event. Last-minute events are possible in general, but they are not recommended because of the preparation and logistics involved.

Tournament-Level Gear

In the United States and Canada, hockey gear used in official tournaments and leagues must meet certification requirements. For example, helmets are required to have safety stickers and other approvals specific to league play. Our equipment is excellent for recreational events such as parties, weddings, and corporate outings, but it may not be suitable for league-level play, touch hockey games, or tournament policies that demand certified gear and special insurance. We are a recreational sports gear rental company, not a professional-level equipment supplier. The irony is that it is essentially the same gear, but for professional games it requires certification.
