Where to go Snowboarding near the Twin Cities?
In order to get the full experience of snowboarding in Minnesota, we recommend you to visit the following ski resorts:
- Como Park Ski Center – Como Park Ski Center, also known as Mount Como, features two rope tows, a 150 foot vertical drop on 15 skiable acres, over 5K of groomed cross country trails, lessons for all ages and skill levels, and ski and snowboard rentals. Como Park Ski Center is located at 1431 North Lexington Parkway near Lake Como and the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. The chalet is located inside the golf course clubhouse.
- Hyland Hills Ski Area – Winter sports enthusiasts love Hyland Hills Ski Area. Located within Hyland Lake Park Reserve in Bloomington, Hyland Hills is the place for downhill skiing and snowboarding in the Twin Cities metro area. The terrain park is full of progressive and innovative features and we are known for some of the best snowmaking and grooming in the Midwest. If you’ve never hit the slopes or want to freshen up your skills, Three Rivers also offers lessons through the Snow Sports Academy.
- Elm Creek Winter Recreation Area – The Winter Recreation Area at Elm Creek features a lighted tubing hill with lifts and snowmaking, a beginner-level downhill ski and snowboard hill and almost 18K of cross-country ski trails.

- Lutsen Mountains – Lutsen Mountains offers the Midwest’s only true mountain ski area experience. Four interconnected peaks overlooking Lake Superior bring big mountain skiing with Up North authenticity.
- Mt. Itasca Winter Sports Center – Mt. Itasca offers something for everyone. This resort has a rich history of skiing dating back to 1906. With deep roots in jumping, the hill continues to grow offering cross -country skiing, lift access downhill skiing and snowboarding, tubing, and biathlon.
